Hypertherm Launches the Much Anticipated Powermax 45 XP Plasma Cutter
For those in the metalworking world know Hypertherm makes some of the best plasma cutting units on the market. Their Powermax 45 unit is the number one selling plasma cutter on the market and for good reason. It’s a solid model with great performance. Today they have officially launched the new XP model of the Powermax 45. The all new Powermax 45 XP has been in the works for over two years and has been slowly teased to it’s customers through promotional videos and photos over the past month or so. Today it was unveiled and full specifications released.
The main benefits of the XP model are:
- Wattage increase from 5950 t 6500
- New precision gouging and marking feature
- Increased recommended cutting increased from 1/2″ (12mm) to 5/8″ (16mm)
- Automatic air/gas adjustment
- Upgraded torch to the Duramax line
We plan on getting our hands on this new model for an unboxing as well as a quick feature review/video and will likely have a longer follow up full Tool Report after putting some miles on it.
